The children's author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.

David Walliams

Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the firm commented: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour towards young women.

The company declined to specify the reasons for its decision, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO this past October.
