Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A jet transporting Pete Hegseth was required to make an unplanned landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The aircraft touched down based on standard protocol and everyone onboard, among them Secretary Hegseth, is safe," an official representative commented in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This incident isn't the first occasion that a American defense plane carrying a senior official has suffered technical problems.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to head back to Washington DC after suffering a mechanical fault.
